Guard the Gates: The Body of Christ, the Church, the Land of Kansas City
“Guard the gates, daughter, guard the gates!” Early Monday morning, I kept hearing that ring in my ears. I have been reflecting on how grateful I am for the Lord taking me into a depth of healing and reconciliation in my heart, to plow ministry work in Kansas City and the surrounding metro area.
I believe there are generations here who are living in a space of desiring that God’s justice prevail over the church. A purified body of Christ that doesn’t choose systems over people. Where regions are transformed because God’s blueprint has established a firm foundation that has disrupted chaos, leaving the people bound.
“But Makayla, what’s the call to action right now?” True repentance, prayer, and intercession for Heaven’s strategy for our local churches to be safe, trusted, transformed, and not in operation from a place of pride, false unity, manipulation, and control over a people. Beginning with leaders. And through intercessors who aren’t afraid to birth fiery and targeted prayers that take back ground in land and uproots darkness permeating over a people.
Where prayer doesn’t become how we want our ministries to form for our own appearance and self-gain. It’s carrying what God gives and staying in step with how He wants to unfold it all. Giving Him back what belongs to Him.
I am assured that there is a healing the Lord wants to bring to the Kansas City Metro area through humility, honesty, and surrender. I’ve learned to stop living from a place of desolation, devastation, and defeat regarding the brokenness of my hometown. Instead, yield to reflect God’s heart by dealing with my own first.
Remnant, rise up, there are scattered sheep who need your pour, and they’re not just outside of the church, they’re in it. Yield to the Lord’s voice to see HIS heart about justice, grace, and mercy over you, and over a people whom He loves.
“This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Stand at the gate of the Lord’s house and there proclaim this message: “‘Hear the word of the Lord, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the Lord.” Jeremiah 7:1-2
It’s time to guard the gates and allow the Lord to restore His houses of worship and the land of a people.
